As part of the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia 24th High Council meeting, FICIL and the Financial Intelligence Unit are organising a public discussion “Value of compliance: What is Latvia’s competitive advantage?”

The discussion will take place Thursday, 10 September at 13:30.

The panel will include:

Discussion will be moderated by Mr Morten Hansen.

At the beginning of 2020 Prime Minister of Latvia Mr. Krišjānis Kariņš stated that the positive FATF decision shows Latvia’s financial sector overhaul has been successful. Now – what’s next? What is the current situation in the field of AML/CTF in Latvia? Investor viewpoint – what is preventing/hindering investor activity in Latvia? What is missing to show investors that Latvia has a stable, predictable business environment, where operations are transparent? These and other questions will be answered during the discussion.
